There are also plenty of good bus lines very close (Place Tetuan). The street is a quite small street (not a big noisy avenue), still quite busy with cars in the morning (better: get a room with view on the back-side of the building). Only problem with the hotel is that it's qite noisy... you can hear what your neighbour does und as soon as someone moves a chair etc... Very good and nice breakfast. Service very kind and friendly, also speaking French.

We first stayed here in 2003 when I first visited Barcelona and we were impressed enough that I decided to re-book my stay at Hesperia Carlit a couple of weeks ago when I was in Barcelona for a week on business. It's only 20 mins walk to la ramblaand Plaza Catalunya, 10 mins walk to Sagrada Familia and 3 mins walk to the closest subway station, from where you can go pretty much anywhere in the city. The hotel staff was excellent, the room was impecably clean ... all of these for a great price ... oh, and I forgot to mention ... free wireless access! I would definitely stay here next time I am in Barcelona! In addition, I also recommend the hesperia Hotel in Valencia! Just another great experience!
